Microcement surfaces

Most microcement wasn’t built for tropical climates. Ours was.

Cemtara Microcement X resists water at the core within about an hour of cure, flexes with the substrate beneath it instead of cracking, and applies over almost any surface — tile, timber, cement — without demolition.

Products

Cemtara is a system, not a single product. Every quote includes the Surface Primer and the Topcoat — they are part of the system, never optional. What sits between them is chosen for the surface: Microcement X for daily use, Microcement Pool for water.

Microcement X

Made for daily life

The core microcement for floors, walls and countertops. Applied in multiple thin coats over the prepared surface, it takes the colour and the texture of the finished room.

Sizes: 15 kg and 2 kg buckets
Used for: Floors, walls, countertops, kitchens, bathrooms, stairs and furniture
Not for: Swimming pools or submerged areas. Use Microcement Pool for water.

Microcement Pool

Developed for submerged surfaces

Developed for surfaces that are submerged or permanently wet, above all swimming pools. It gives a pool the look of natural stone without the joints and the maintenance of tiles.

Sizes: 15 kg and 2 kg buckets
Used for: Swimming pools, submerged surfaces and permanently wet areas
Best for: Pools, water features and outdoor wet zones

Plaster Textura Spray

Relief and character on walls

A textured plaster for walls and feature surfaces, interior and exterior. Applied over the Surface Primer, by hand or as a spray.

Sizes: 15 kg bucket and 4 L. Also available as spray.

Texture Wash-Kit

A limewash effect, mixed into paint you already have

A kit that turns a chosen paint colour into a textured wash finish. For larger wall areas where a full microcement system is not needed.

Sizes: Kit for 20 litres of paint, and kit for 2.5 litres of paint
Mix into: Water based paints only
Used for: Interior walls and feature surfaces

Floor Leveling

A poured floor that comes out level, smooth and in colour

Most floors are not level. Floor Leveling is poured rather than trowelled: strip out what is loose, clean the floor, set the height and pour. The standard grey goes under tiles or microcement; the coloured version is the finished floor.

Versions: Standard grey, and pre-coloured as a finished floor
Colours: The Cemtara range. Custom colours on larger orders.
Thickness: From 1 mm up to 10 mm, depending on how uneven the floor is
Used for: Levelling before tiles or microcement, and as the finished floor in the coloured version
Finished with: A coating on top once the surface has cured

The system parts

These are not sold as a separate finish. They are what makes the finish work, and they are in every quote.

Always applied first
Surface Primer
Prepares the existing surface so the microcement bonds properly. It evens out how much the substrate absorbs, so the decorative layer takes the same way across the whole area.
Embedded before the base coats
Fibermesh
A reinforcement mesh embedded in the base layer. It minimises the risk of cracks in the substrate telegraphing through to the finished surface.
Final step of every project
Topcoat
The protective sealer. It protects against water, stains and wear, and it sets the final look of the surface.

Colours

Every colour is applied by hand, so no two boards are identical. Custom colours are matched on request, beyond the standard range.

Every colour has a code. Say the code and the name together. Colour shifts with light, texture and topcoat, so confirm against a physical sample before specifying.
